1300-1800 BST
Only 35% of companies that disclose information through the CDP having a clear plan to reduce their carbon emissions, and only 6% having a clear Net Zero target. There are many reasons for this lack of planning and reporting, although one of the main barriers to corporate decarbonisation strategies is a lack of accurate data reporting, a lack of efficiency in energy usage and a lack of optimisation in how space is utilised on premises.
As part of the DecarboniseSY Accelerator, the Tech Games was a curated, high-level, event showcasing cutting edge net zero technologies to leading corporates and investors, and seeks to allow stakeholders from across the Net Zero ecosystem to meaningfully engage and collaborate with each other. The event also included live Tech Studios, where leading corporates delivered a reverse pitch calling for disruptive solutions to meet their ambitious decarbonisation goals.

Scope 3 emissions can account for 80% or more of a company’s total emissions, particularly in industries with complex supply chains. There is growing pressure from investors, customers and regulators for companies to address their emissions across the value chain, including Scope 3, in the move towards a more sustainable and low-carbon economy.
Scope 3 emissions can be difficult to measure and manage, however. There is a lack of verifiable information on Scope 3 impact, the external dependencies are higher and taking action is more complex. There is a clear need to establish collaborative mechanisms and technologies than can optimise our Net Zero efficiencies across the value chain.
Our roundtable on Driving Net Zero Across the Value Chain explored the barriers to and opportunities from stakeholder collaboration, and the importance of being transparent in sharing quality and clear data.

By invitation only, the event brought together 31 senior executives from leading corporates, public agencies and key stakeholders in sustainability and technology to shape a global perspective on the future of sustainable operations and business models. This is a pre-launch event, enabling participants to start to understand the themes and areas in which collaboration “moves the needle”. We kicked off with three brief keynotes from representatives of Government, Industry and Academia who are already committed to driving change. The rest of the event is a guided roundtable discussion held with Chatham House rules on the road travelled and the road ahead; technology strategy – from short-term solutions to long-term strategic investments; realising next level through industry collaborations.
